About the Author
Julia Ecklar is a freelance science fiction writer who has authored or
co-authored nine books, including ReGenesis from Ace Books.
This novel, based on the popular Rahel Tovin stories first published in
Analog, deals with issues of extinction and genetic recreation in the far
future. Other science fiction stories written by Ecklar include:
"A Sweet Disorder," "Burning Bridges," and "Promised Lives," all of which
deal with the social disruptions that arise when future societies attempt
to deal with problems of crime, cultural extinction, and overpopulation.
These and other stories won her the John W. Campbell Award for Best New
Science Fiction Writer of the Year in 1991. Ecklar has also written
or co-written five Star Trek novels and one Alien Nation novel
under the pen-name L.A. Graf for Pocket Books.
